Cheesy situation.

Everyday, when Parker & I get ready to go pick-up David from pre-school, Parker asks if he can have a snack on the way there. Usually Parker falls asleep on the way, so I'm not quite sure what I was thinking when I gave him Handi-snacks cheese & Crackers. Poor kid didn't even make it through half the snack before he knocked out! Luckily he's a deep sleeper when he's tired. He didn't wake up when I cleaned him up. Note to self: give Parker snacks that can be vacuumed up in case of sudden sleep.

Dinner Group

Tonight was my first contrabution to a dinner group Dawn is a part of. There are 9 ladies, each of which has to make 8 of the same meals to distribute. Bring 8 of the same, leave with 8 different ones. Great idea, but it didn't go so well for me. For starters, I am not a good cook. Then, on top of that, I spent about 3.5-4 hours making the meals. Can I tell you how stressed out I was today?!? My poor boys probably feel neglected..."I can't play right now I'm trying to make dinner." Poor David just kept saying, "STILL?!?!" I gave them so much junk food just because it kept them entertained for a while, you know guilt food...eat this it'll help ME not feel as guilty! (Maybe they didn't mind being neglected as much) On the way to drop off the food I was convinced I was not doing it anymore. One & Done! But the ladies gave me some good tips on how to make it easier,so MAYBE I'll try one more time. Maybe.

I like your thumb....

So today was suppose to be a easy eventless day at home with the kiddos. No plans to go anywhere but pre-school to drop-off & pick-up David. But OH NO, life had different plans for me! I had just got home form picking up David and had his and Parker's lunch ready. So, I started to prepare Dave's lunch. Nothing fancy (no surprise) just a can of tortilla soup. I had the soup in the mircowave (yeah, I'm a WONDERFUL cook!) and was pulling off the tab on the lid of the can (ya know to collect for Relief Society for the Ronald McDonald house) and then it happened. I SLICED my thumb open on the inner crease. OUCH, I mean it...OUCH!!! I looked down to survey the damage, thinking it wouldn't be more then a really bad paper cut, but boy was I wrong. I saw the open skin and what appeared to be my bone. Now, I'm sure it wasn't my bone, but with the pain, and the blood that started coming out quickly that is how my over-reactive brain processed it. I got light headed, leaned on the counter and told David to please go get Daddy quick! (Thankfully he was home) Poor David was more worried about me and kept asking what was wrong to which he only got the reply "Mommy's fine, get Daddy!" Dave came in and I was already crying (yes, I cried...I'm telling you it HURT!). So of course David, being my caring son, saw his mom crying and started crying too. Great. So I had to "man-up" and in the calmest voice I could, told him I was fine. Took a bit to convince him, but he bought it. We got the kid's ready, I called Adrienne (my life saver!) to see if she can watch my boys while Dave took me to Urgent care. Once David heard that he was going to Danny's to play, he wasn't concerned for Mommy much. (In case your wondering Parker was still eating the whole time, LOL!) At urgent care, they glued my skin shut (crazy) and gave me tetnus shot. (Dave tried to convince me the shot was going in my stomach. FREAKED ME OUT. Gotta love his sense of humor.)

At dinner David asked if my thumb was all better and I told him it's working on it.

He said, "I don't want you to be hurt. I Love you. And I like your thumb too."

Me too, Buddy, me too.
