Last week Parker and I were driving to pick up David and his friends from school when Parker said something I probably will never forget. Don't get me wrong, he has many of these moments, but this one will stick to my heart for a while.
Parker: Mommy, I saw Jesus.
Me: Oh, yeah? Where? (I looked around thinking maybe there was a billboard or something he was talking about)
Parker: When he made me.
Me; Oh, yeah?
Parker: Yeah, he made me. Then when he was done I went and sat down while he made you guys. I turned around and saw him.
Me: (with a lump in my throat and watery eyes.) You did? That's awesome Bubba!
Parker: Yeah mommy, me and Jesus are good friends.
Me: I'm glad Bubba. That makes me happy.
I kept driving replaying this conversation in my head so I wouldn't forget anything so I could tell Dave the next time I talked to him. As i kept driving I turned onto a street that had houses on one side but desert on the other and the following was said.
Parker: Wow, people live way out here?
Me: Yup.
Parker: Oh, Jesus made their house's?
Me: Um, no, not really. Construction workers made them.
Parker: OH! You mean the Laminates?! Laminates made them?!
Me: Um, no. Construction workers. (giggling a bit by now)
Parker: Mom, Jesus likes laminates too.
Me: Yes honey, he does. That's right.
