On Saturday April 18th, I am running a half marathon in Salt Lake City Utah. But I want to do it for a purpose, one bigger then just my own personal achievement. I want it to run to help the Children of northern Uganda. But I need your help.
In the midst of the country's 23-year conflict, over 1.7 million people have been displaced from their homes. These innocent victims of the war, the majority women and children, have been forced into abhorrent conditions in camps where huts are packed tightly together, access to clean water is limited, and disease and violence are rampant. On top of this, more than 25,000 children have been abducted and forced to become slaves or soldiers in the conflict.
The Invisible Children organization is committed to helping the thousands of children, who have been abducted and forced to be child soldiers, return to their families. We can help them too.
Here’s how: Visit http://www.invisiblechildren.com/, watch the video about The Rescue, and make a tax-deductible donation. It can be a one time donation or a recurring one https://secure.invisiblechildren.com/donate/ . You will receive an e-mail confirming your donation to use for tax purposes. Forward that e-mail to me at runnin2Bseen@gmail.com and I will include your name on the t-shirt I will be wearing during the race. It’s that simple.
The t-shirt will read:
I’m running for The Invisible Children…
…so they can stop running and be seen.
These people are helping too:
Then the list of all your names! If you would like your name to appear a certain way (i.e The Fletcher Family, C. Fletcher, Cindy F. etc.) please indicate it in the forwarded e-mail.
Please help me make crossing the finish line mean more then just finishing a race.
Thanks for your support!
Cindy Fletcher.
